  1. Data Scientist

    Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii (RCUH)

    RCUH manages the applied research lab (ARL) at UH, who were awarded a four-year contract to operate the Maui High Performance Computing Center (MHPCC). A majority of my time was spent leveraging core competencies of ARL at UH were to accomplish research on the high performance computing systems at MHPCC.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Lead machine learning and data science efforts, mentoring team as needed.
    • Work between multiple projects and manage time efficiently.
    • Organize and present results in a way for stakeholders to easily understand.
  2. Data Scientist

    UH Manoa College of Engineering (CoE)

    The UH Manoa CoE were awarded $700k in an effort upgrade many engineering labs within their facilities to enhance research outcomes. One lab of which being the Jacobs Traffic and Transportation Lab, where I would be conducting my research.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Creating complex simulations of the household activity pattern problem (HAPP).
    • Use HAPP simulations to compare hypothetical autonomous rideshare systems to Hawaii’s developing skyline and current status quo.
    • Visualize results of simulations through ArcGIS.
  3. Student Assistant

    Leeward Community College Math Lab

    Responsibilities include:

    • Tutor college students in Math courses from Algebra to Calculus IV.
    • Work online through Zoom to comply with COVID-19 lockdown.
  4. Content Tutor

    Leeward Community College Learning Resource Center

    Responsibilities include:

    • Tutor college students in Computer Science, Chemistry, and Japanese. Organize study sessions with professors.
    • Work online through Zoom to comply with COVID-19 lockdown.

Proposing my research project described in the UH Manoa section, I was able to be awarded $4,226 to complete the project and do a present the results and findings of my research project prior to my graduation at UH Manoa. The presentation was successful at UH Manoa’s undergraduate showcase.
